Seeking Volunteer Mentors

SET is looking for mentors in Deer Lake and Lewisporte who can share interests or experiences in the areas of; working with or caring for animals, outdoor activities, sports, carpentry, and involvement with volunteer orgainizations (ie. Fire Department).

We are also always looking for volunteer mentors in Springdale, Gambo, Grand Falls-Windsor and Baie Verte who can offer valuable experiences and skills to students whoare involved in SET.

SET Mentoring is currently in the following schools: Baie Verte Collegiate; Indian River High, Springdale; Exploits Valley High, Grand Falls-Windsor; Gander Collegiate; Smallwood Academy, Gambo; Lewisporte Collegiate and Elwood Regional High, Deer Lake.

Thanks to everyone who participated in our Community Living walk yesterday. It was a huge success with over 80 people who attended. A big THANK YOU to all who helped out in any way, volunteers are valuable in our communities. "Community Living, everyone's a part of it!"

October is Community Living Month!!!

On Wednesday October 13th, NLACL-SET Mentoring will be partnering with the Green Bay Association for Community Living in hosting a community walk to recognize October as being community living month. Our theme is "A Community Walking Together!" The day will start at 10 a.m. with a proclamation signing at the Town Hall in Springdale (Main St.) followed by a community walk to Manual Hall (Grant Ave. above the Stadium) where there will be greetings and lunch provided.
